SPL: Aidan Chen
The troop headed up to Griswold Scout Reservation for one week for summer camp. Scouts learned merit badges, played Watermelon Scramble, climbed the Aquatic Craze, enjoyed treats from the trading post, canoeing, kayaking, target practice, and sat by the campfire for popcorn, skits and jokes. There is almost always at least one thunderstorm and quite a few mosquitoes, but it did not dampen the scouting spirit of the week. Scouts feasted on the new buffet lunch this year too.
This year, after a record number of teams participating from troop 1, scouts Josh Blangeard, Sam Strechay, Jack Dolski, Aidan Chen, and Ryan D’Alleva (below, left to right) won the Hidden Valley Iron Man and beat the staff record!
